30th July Group Photoshoot

Oh 30th July this year I had the opportunity to join four other photographers in a really nice group photoshoot.

Rodney Cossor, our host, has a really nice piece of land in Waterford, Queensland, where he lives with his family. His studio is also there.

So he invited four photographers to join him for a full day of shooting. The idea was that each photographer would bring a model and we invited some hair & makeup artists to join us to create some nice images and learn a thing or two from each other.

For my second Hunter Creative project I teamed up with Heidi Sun (our second time shooting) and we created some really cool images.

And so my first Hunter Creative was published.

I know this blog hasn’t been very active. I have so much to write about but no time at all. I need to write about my move from Canon to Sony, my time off changing full time jobs, etc. But this post is about my first published HC project: Lady in Red.

This project was a big team effort, and everything worked perfectly. It was my first time shooting fashion on location at night and as in any first time doing something I was a bit nervous, but we have done it and very well.

We shot on the 4th July 2016.

Natural light – Canon vs Sony

Yesterday I got to shoot some natural light portraits with the beautiful Jessica Veitch from Wink Models and Busy Models.

I was shooting with my favourite combo, the Canon 5D Mark III and Canon EF 85mm f/1.2 and I decided to grab the little Sony a6000 and Sony Sonnar T* 55mm f1.8 CZ for another comparison.

Last Sunday, 13th March, we had the opportunity to play with some really cool studio lights by Elinchrom at Warehouse Studios, thanks to Kayell Australia. HMUA by Mesmereyz Makeup.

When shooting the beautiful Montana Lower with a 3 light setup, I had the chance to swap cameras and see how the little Sony A6000 would perform.

85mm – A Sony x Zeiss x Canon Comparison

I thought about running a comparison of the Sony E 1.8/50mm OSS and the Sony Sonnar T* FE 1.8/55mm ZA lenses mounted on my Sony A6000, but I ended up throwing some Canon stuff in my tests as well. So this comparison will have:

Canon vs Sony showdown preview: Skate Park

I have a camera showdown planned for March, when we go to Byron Bay to shoot the surfers. I want to put our Canon cameras and lenses against the Sony A6000. The idea is not to compare image quality or anything like that, but how they perform photographing sports at long distance.

Nobby Sunflower Fields

One of the things we didn’t get to see in our trip to USA was a sunflower field. Back in Australia, Roberta found out that there are a few in Queensland. So we did a quick research and went for a drive to the Queensland countryside.

Note: the photos in this post will have a caption with the camera and settings used. The reason for that is I got myself a little Sony A6000 but also took my Canon 5D III (with the 85mm f1.2 only) and you can see the difference between the cameras and lenses. Soon enough I will have a post about that.
