Holidays 2015 – Part 5 – Hawaii
The North Shore of Oahu was the last part of our holidays. We added Hawaii to our trip so we could rest up in good weather before coming back to Brisbane’s summer, and also because we love to shoot the surf.
Our first beach was Pipeline.
And then a quick drive to Turtle Bay.
Next day we went straight to Sunset Beach, where the Vans World Cup of Surfing was happening. Unfortunately the surf was really far away and it was raining a lot, so it was a bit hard to get good shots even at 400mm.
For the third day we decided to go on a road trip to southeast, stopping by Pearl Harbor on the way.
Moving on to Kailua, Lanikai and Hanauma Bay (and a lot of traffic going back to the North Shore).
For our final day, we went back to Pipeline. Another competition was starting in a few days. It wasn’t on yet, but the surf was great (some guys were literally flying)!
Wall-E loved Pipeline!
And a final stop in Shark’s Cove.
After that we had to head back to apartment, pack up and go to the airport. Our flight got delayed so to avoid missing our Sydney-Brisbane, we managed to get in an earlier flight. We landed in Sydney on Sunday at 11am and were home in Brisbane by 1:30pm!
And that’s it, our 4 weeks holidays in a nutshell! Not it’s time to start planning the next one! 🙂
