We left New York City to Fairbanks, Alaska. Our main reason to go there was to see the Northern Lights again. Unfortunately, it was snowing the whole time and the Aurora activity was not that strong, so no lights for us.

The place we stayed is called Arctic Roots Farm, and what a place! This was the BEST AirBnB experience we ever had. The farm is awesome, the cottage is cozy and warm, the food is great and our hosts Nancy, Chris and Alex (the dog) were so cool! We did some more exploring outside of the farm, of course, and tried a local beer (no need for a fridge, just leave the beer outside for 5 minutes and we were good to go)!
Of course we could not go to a cold place without doing some dog sledding, and we found the most amazing place for it! Black Spruce Dog Sledding gave us the BEST experience we could hope for. The drive to it was a bit hard because it has been snowing for quite a while, but well worth it!
So even without Auroras, this part of our holidays was amazing! And 5 days later was time to fly down to San Francisco to see our friends…. (to be continued)
