Roberta had a very cool idea: every week she would draw from two boxes full of little pieces of paper one lens and one subject, and have a week to photograph that subject with that lens. I thought the idea was great so I decided to join her!

For the first challenge I got the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro (but in Manual mode only). When I got the paper I was like “oh no” – this lens belongs to Roberta, I haven’t really played with it – but when we got this week’s subject, I was glad I had that lens for it: spider webs!

We went out today already, hunting for some webs, and although we have all week to do it, I thought I could share some of the results.

I will post my chosen picture when the week ends (it might be one of these ones, if I don’t get anything better or we don’t have the chance to go out again).

PS: the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro in Manual mode is very hard to use, but also a lot of fun!!!

PS2: of course, hunting for spider webs with a macro lens, I ended up taking lots of spider shots!!

UPDATE: I ended the first week challenge with these photos. I also skipped week 2 because of work (I had to travel for work). The week 2 subject was Cityscapes and I’m sad I missed out.
