Byron Bay – March 2015
We try to go to Byron Bay at least once a year, preferable for my wife‘s birthday. And we did manage to go this year.
First day the surf wasn’t as good as we would like, but it got better in the second day and again in our last day.
Not only I got some photos of surfers, which is the whole idea, but I also shot a nice baby Cormorant, stole a pose from a model having a photo shoot, saw a beautiful sunset, clicked Roberta and shot one of my personal all time favorites.
That weekend also marked the first time I used by new equipment (Canon 5D mark III and the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 lens). Not only that: the first time my 14mm Samyang actually worked as a 14mm without any crop.
I did have a problem though: I always shot the surf in Byron with my old 7D and a Canon 18-200mm. This time, I completely forgot the fact that I was shooting with a full frame camera and those 200mm were actually 200mm. I am ready now for the next time, with a Canon 2x Extender.
