Photo of the Week: Erin Williamson
This is kind of where things actually started. I wanted to shoot with models to get experience and without having a portfolio no one would shoot with me, of course. I didn’t have a truckload of money to hire models to practice so this workshop had 6 of them for a very good fee, plus all the information, fun, and meeting new people.
How lucky of me to have Erin as my first model ever? Even though I only had a few minutes with her, I loved the photos I got. She is stunning and really, really good at what she does! It is particularly hard for a model to work with unexperienced photographers, as they get no directions or anything at all, so they have to figure everything out.
Kayell did very well on getting experienced models for a workshop like this. If they had hired beginner models, none of the beginner photographers would get any good photos, really.
At this stage I was already watching countless hours of video tutorials and reading a lot, as well as practicing a lot of retouching. So even though this is not my light setup and all credits for the beauty in this image go to Erin herself, and I over retouched a little bit (which is fine for this kind of image anyway), I still love this photo so much!
